Ultrasonic grease guns

Ultrasonic grease guns

(OP)
I was wondering if anyone has experience with ultrasonic lubrication. Does it work as advertised? Will I really see any benefits such as, longer bearing life? Which of these products have you used and what features should I look for if I do purchase one. How much training is needed for proper use. Do you have procedures set up for using the device? Any advice that can be given would be appreciated

RE: Ultrasonic grease guns

I work at large industrial facility.   We calculate relubrication intervals and quantities using bearing manufacturer's recommendations.   We looked at the ultrasound gun and decided not to use them.

#1 - It requires more time, effort and equipment to do the lubrication.
#2 - If you grease by ear you will never really be sure how much is in your cavity and how long until cavity will be full.
#3 - We have not seen much proof there will be any benefit.
#4 - To my knowledge all pump/motor OEM's and bearings OEM's recommend time-based calculated quantity.  None have endorsed ultrasound.  Also no large industrial facilities to my knowledge.  If it is such a great idea we will wait until people prove it works. We don't want to be guinea pigs.

Just my opinion from relatively little direct experience with that technology.
