ANSI standard downloads

(OP)
Do any of you know of a good source on the web for downloading ANSI standards either free or at a good price?

The standards are not avaiable for free. Contact asme.org

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

Yah, if you get 'em free they're stolen.

Try your local library if you can't afford them.

Best to ya,

RE: ANSI standard downloads

Determine the individual standards required.  Most known as ANSI standards are originated by other organizations such as ASME, ASTM, ISA, IEEE, ...  These are non-profit organizations that have costs.  They develop and sell standards.

Some companies subscribe to standards via Information Handling Service IHS.  This is useful.  Even when obtained via IHS you can only make one copy for yourself and cannot save the file on a network.

Many ANSI/NEMA standards are available as free downloads.  Go to www.nema.org

SteveSmith:

What ANSI standard did you find at the NEMA site that was available as a free download?

Every ANSI standard I clicked on (see page http://www.nema.org/stds/list-DocNum.cfm) could only be downloaded for a fee.

RE: ANSI standard downloads

Type "Free" in the search window and you will find quite a few as free downloads.

RE: ANSI standard downloads

New guy here.  Has anyone consolidated a list of the significant changes between B46.1 1985, 1995 and the 2002 revisions?  Or, is anyone able to provide guidance as to where this information might be located?  I have emailed ASME and will post any info they supply me.

Cheers,
Steve
