Can anyone tell me about modelling solid in SAP 2000 7.4

RE: SOLID MODELLING in SAP2000 7.4

you have one of two ways either to write the solid formulation as a text file and import it to sap

or draw solid object in autocad and import it as DXF

RE: SOLID MODELLING in SAP2000 7.4

I know that you can model solids only in version 8... or higher of SAP; I had the SAP 7.1. and there were options of solids but not accesible.

Dear Dawn836,
How to draw import solids from Autocad DXF. For example frame members can be represented by simple lines in Autocad, Shell members can be represented by  3D surface. So what represents solids for SAP in AutoCAD

Thanks in advance

RE: SOLID MODELLING in SAP2000 7.4

Hi,
I am new to sap2000. I am having trouble importing a .dxf file from autocad. I have read the sap2000 help, but not luck. I will be grateful for any help.

Thanks
