valve body material

(OP)
I have a question about body material of valve. Which type of material is suitable when the fluid is contain 25% (mole) of CO2 and 75% H2S? Can carbon steel be used as body material or only stainless steel is suitable? What ASTM codes are used for this case?
Thanks in advance

RE: valve body material

farahnaz77,
    what is your service temperature?

In any case, my sensation is that "simple" stainless steel is not even enough and the right materials (if any) should be "super-alloys" (Nickel or Nickel-Copper ones...)...

About standards andregulations, I would suggest to consider the NACE documents (see http://www.nace.org/nace/index.asp).

RE: valve body material

Also, you need to specify if the stream is dehydrated or not.  That mixture is really awful if there is any water present.
