2005 may be the year of the formed helical gear now in development in the Chicago area. That will give PM a run for the money.

You know about stamped gears/fine blanked gears. These are generally spur gears. I'm talking about making helical gears in a similar process. Noise sensitive applications demand helical, and the stamped-formed helical has promise over PM helical. More info later.
