SLC5/05 Ethernet and DH485

SLC5/05 Ethernet and DH485

(OP)
Hi

I need help to put together different SLC CPUs. My purpose is to send info from PLCs to Ethernet. Then, I want to utilize those info to develop OEE metrics.

I have SLC5/02 and  SLC5/03 and an IDEC PLC. I want to create a network DH485 with those SLC5/02 and SLC5/03. Then, upgrade IDEC to SLC5/05 and link it with DH485 network.

The SLC5/05 has two channels: channel 0 to DH485, and channel 1 to ethernet. Should I have one specific PC/RSLogix500 for that CPU?

Today I have one laptop/RSLogix500 to access the SCL500 systems.

Thanks,

Lara

RE: SLC5/05 Ethernet and DH485

If your PC has an Ethernet port and your version of RSLogix lists the 5/05 in the supported CPU list, then you have all you need to communicate with it on Ethernet.

Concerning linking Ethernet to DH485- you better doublecheck with your AB supplier.
