Question regarding "escape" vs. "back up"
Question regarding "escape" vs. "back up"
(OP)
In Cadkey, I could hit F10 and back up if I selected the wrong entity. Is there a way of doing this in Solidworks? I have to hit escape, then select the command again, then try to select the correct entity. Not a big deal, but innefficient.

RE: Question regarding "escape" vs. "back up"
If there is a back up function in SWX I'm not aware of it.
I hope my answer was sufficient

Also, when drawing a couple of centerlines. It automatically defaults to a string of lines, which I have never needed. Again, hit escape, click on centerline icon again...
Guess we need to steer this topic into an enhancement request.
RE: Question regarding "escape" vs. "back up"
1) After using "measuring tape", RMB anywhere in the sketch & select Clear selections. This resets the measure dialogue box ready for next set of selections.
2) When drawing lines or centrelines, click once to start the line, click once again to select the second & subsequent points of the line ... then double-click to end the line. This resets the cursor to start a another seperate line.

Double-clicking on a face of a solid tries to select that face for dimensioning, or whatever command you're doing.
Anyways, This is just something that is different than I'm used to, and I can't find an efficient way around it.
RE: Question regarding "escape" vs. "back up"
Measuring & drawing lines were your original problem areas, and you now have the correct methods for working with those. When sketching lines, double-clicking does not select the face of a solid and when dimensioning, a double click need not be used.
What are you trying to dimension?
