Torque values for BSF threads

Torque values for BSF threads

(OP)
I am presently reassembling a reduction gearbox from a 11 MW GEC gen set assembly.
The genset consists of a Rolls Royce Avon gas generator, GEC power turbine, MWD gearbox and GEC generator.
The bearing caps are held in place by 1/ 1/2" and 1 1/4"BSF studs.
There are no present markings on the stud nor the nuts to indicate what material was used in the manufacture.
Regards,
James Chin Yut

RE: Torque values for BSF threads

You can do a Rockwell hardness test to the bolt heads and from that you can estimate the bolts tensile strength.
