wrap sketch around cylinder

(OP)
I'm trying to find a way to take a sketch or thin extrusion and wrap it into a cylinder.  The finished result would be similar to the way a wrapper fits around a cylindrical can.  Any ideas?

RE: wrap sketch around cylinder

There is a specific feature for that in SW 2005 called Wrap.  Check it out.

RE: wrap sketch around cylinder

You can wrap a sketch around a cylinder using the voila !!!"Wrap"!!! feature, introduced in 2004. This then does an Emboss/Deboss/Split face operation.
