Chlorine corrosion protection.

Chlorine corrosion protection.

Chlorine corrosion protection.

(OP)
We manufacture components that must survive periodic environmental leakage from containers of chlorine normaly found in water treatment plants.  Though never immersed in either wet or dry chlorine, they will occasionally be subjected to chlorine vapors in the air during instalation and removal.  I note that the yokes connecting the chlorine containers to the downstream process are cadmium plated.  However, upon researching cadmium as an anti-corrosion coating for our components, I find many different choices with little information as to which ones will work best in my application.  Can anyone shed any light on the best plating/coating to protect mild steel from air-born chlorine corrosion?

RE: Chlorine corrosion protection.

Chrome types will be of no use.  Mabee a highly alloyed nickel coating.  Try www.wmv.nl   ;, Lunac 1 is a coating may help.
