Has anyone ever experienced surface blasting directly causing underground mine subsidence?

RE: Blasting Causing Subsidence

No to your question but try out the guys at www.drillerscub.com they have lots of experience and would enjoy helping you.  Web is run by Altas Copco but is open to all.

RE: Blasting Causing Subsidence

We have been blasting approx 200m above current u/g coal mine workings with typical shots being 10tonnes explosive & max instantaneous charge per delay of 150kg. - no ill effects underground.

macajm --  Can you E-mail me a message of your details?  I am involved in a litigation where it is alleged that very light surface blasting for shopping center 3,800 ft away and 6 months earlier caused mine subsidence 300 ft deep.  Thanks.  frankatagapito@aol.com

RE: Blasting Causing Subsidence

I'm a Mining Contractor in mexico, in 1998 we start to mining an underground phase after the company Las Encinas finished with an Iron Open Pit, we noticed some water filtrations but no problems with the underground mining, also the company made a few blasting whit us about 40 Mts. below and 100 Mts away whit no problems
