Line and Load Reactors

(OP)
My apologies if this basic question has been addressed already.  Searchs here and elewhere resulted in very little discussion on the subject.

Being a novice, I'm interested in the use of 3 phase line and load reactors in conjuction with AC VFD's.  It appears from looking at product lists that the ratings provided for reactors are maximums (usually in amps).  Would it be a proper conclusion to say that any line reactor would be work as long as it was large enough?  Surely there's a point of no return!?  In other words, what would a reactor rated for 600 vac and 18 amps do in a 240, 3 amp system?

Any leads reference material, online or elsewhere, would also be greatly appreciated!

Contact MTE, TCI or any other reactor manufacturer for descriptive literature and application information.  These people will be pleased to answer basic questions like this.
