Datastream 7i & electric utility users

(OP)
Hello,
My parent company is migrating to Datastream 7i for it's EAM system from an EAM system by SSA (maintracker).  My parent company is an industrial manufacturing company and they own a regulated electric utility company.  This company has transmission, distribution and generating facilities.
Is there anyone out there that works for an electric utility that uses Datastream 7i?
thank You

RE: Datastream 7i & electric utility users

My company is not an utility company, but have some back-up generators and a distribution net.
We are in oil exploration, production and refining and we use Datastream 7i since 1994.

It is a big systen running on Oracle as back-end system. They also have a now version running on SQL-Server.

In 1994 the product was called Rapier (Europe), a DOS based system running on Oracle.

The application was sold to Datastream in the late 90's and it became their MP5 flagship. We upgraded to MP5 because of the support, and in 2003 to Datastream 7i.

Basically after almost 11 years we are still on the same product and we will not change. It is huge, has a lot of features and we have a tie-in to Oracle Financials.

It is a Maintenance Program and not an undercover accounting application like SAP

By the way, somebody managed to tie-in the vb 3000 series vibration analysis equipment/software into Datastream 7i?
