Personnel protection

(OP)
I am looking for specifications for materials and application for personnel protection from hot pipes by barriers, open guards or shields (not insulation).

RE: Personnel protection

Have you tried the OSHA regs available online?  (Assuming you're in the US).

RE: Personnel protection

Try Rockwool they supply insulation products

RE: Personnel protection

I have seen something from a plumbing association.  Search the web for architectural products on the web and you will find all sorts of disability installations for wheelchair access to lavatories, etc. that use protective covers over the hot pipe.  Your search will also find assorted local codes and specifications from government projects.
