Surfacing errors can't heal or close a joined surface. - Help
(OP)
for starters I have a really poor surfaced model. It has been translated several times and my instructions are to make the changes as fast as possible without redoing surfaces.
I have a joined surface with a merge distance of .007mm. I get an error when I try to "heal" the surface saying "Invalid Geometry" Modify the input or the objects used to generate it." I also can't close the surface to get a dumb solid.
All I need to get is a dumb solid for Catia V4.
Thanks for your help...

Even if you do manage to get a solid out of it, you are really leaving a mess behind for the next guy along, even worse than you were left with. Eventually, it will reach the point where it will become completely unusable, and you will be forced to start over.
Good Luck!

Good Luck out there.
My home grown solution:
I never got it to close in V5. I joined it at .007mm and then saved it as a V4 part. In V4 I created a solid and saved it. I then brought it back into V5 as a dumb solid. I realize I've probably just broke like 9 of the ten surfacing commandments, but I must move on.
Good luck out there, hope others can learn from this nightmare.
