All,

Has anyone seen this? I am on NX2.  When I pick a curve that has been used for any free form opperation, it can be deleted.  UG updates and gives me a failure for the feature and I can pick undo so all is good.  The problem is that I can't clean up my unused curves.

RE: Smart being deleted

Does this only happen with Freeform Features?  What specific version of NX2 are you running?  Have you called GTAC about this?

I'm running NX 2.0.4.2 MP6 & am not having this problem.

RE: Smart being deleted

How is the curve created? part of a sketch, basic curve, projected curve, intersect curve, etc?

RE: Smart being deleted

I have reported this same error in PR5096123.
I not recieved a resolution to it though. In my case, I redefined a freeform surface to use new curves, deleted the old curves, and then the feature began to fail to update. I had properly and completely redifined, but still I had problems.

RE: Smart being deleted

Hello Rossly

The first part of your initial statement - this is a bug.

The second part, cleaning up unused curves, is it possible you have made unassociative copies of the a curve being used in a feature and they are what's being deleted? A method I use sometimes to delete unused curves - first make the first feature in the model the current feature. This will unclutter your display and make unused curves easier to select and delete.

Tinhombre,

It is a bug.

To delete unused curves I put them on one layer, delete the curves.  If the curves were used in an extrusion, they don't get deleted.  If they were used in a free form creation, they get deleted and the surface fails.  It has little to do with position on the model tree.
