When are smoke fans required? I have a large printing press building all on one floor. The building has duct detectors and a sprinkler system.

olj, best of my knowledge, you don't require smoke fans. They become necessary (in U.S., anyway) for stairwells when a building's height exceeds 70 ft and for atria. I believe smoke partitions are also needed for inpatient healthcare facilities, but not necessarily smoke fans. I'm not 100% certain though for this specific application...   -CB
