Dual monitor in Pro/E 2001?
Dual monitor in Pro/E 2001?
(OP)
Hello all, I'm new to this forum.
I am using Pro/E 2001, build 2001280, on a Compaq SP750 workstation (Dual PIII Xeon), running Win 2000. It has two 3DLabs Oxygen GVX1 cards, one AGP, one PCI. I am using all of the latest Win 2000 patches and drivers.
I have been unable to get dual OpenGL monitor support working for Pro/E with this setup. With one card only (the AGP card) Pro/E will run in OpenGL mode. With both cards in it will only run in 'Win32_GDI' mode despite config file settings to run in Open GL mode.
PTC does not provide dual monitor support so they would not help me. 3DLabs has been unable to get this working either. Has anyone out there been able to get dual monitor support working with a similar setup?
Thanks!

RE: Dual monitor in Pro/E 2001?
I would try the following: Use two PCI cards. You probably won't notice much of a performance difference between them and an AGP equivalent as long as decent video cards are used.
OR
Get a dual-monitor AGP video adapter.

I agree that a dual head card might work. But I am still getting the line from PTC tech support that they do not support dual head. So I would hate to buy a card and have it not work, then be stuck with it because PTC will not support me. Hence this post
