Fitting forming allowance

Fitting forming allowance

Fitting forming allowance

(OP)
Hallo All

What is the ASME B16.9 forming/manufacturing allowance for fittings made from ASME SA 234 WPB (Holiday break and the spec is in someone's office!)? ASME IIA lists the allowance for SA 106 Gr B pipe (12,5%), but not for SA 234 WPB. ASME VIII I discusses pipe undertolerance a few times but fittings undertolerance is not discussed, should the two be treated the same? The manufacturing processes are different for fittings and pipe and I would expect different tolerances.

Regards

RE: Fitting forming allowance

Minimum wall thickness tolerance is 87.5% per B16.9 (same as pipe).
