Convert 12 VDC power to 12 VAC

Convert 12 VDC power to 12 VAC

Convert 12 VDC power to 12 VAC

(OP)
Anyone has a small project/suggestion circuit to convert 12 or 24 VDC in 12 or 24 VAC.
I need to supply AC power to a small electromagnetic alternative pump from a DC source.
Thank you for helping me,

gcr

RE: Convert 12 VDC power to 12 VAC

For 15 dollars at Walmart, you could get a 70W inverter at 120 VAC. Do you need to step it down to 12 VAC?

Or is this a class project? :-)

RE: Convert 12 VDC power to 12 VAC

Do a Google search for DC/AC power converter. There are hundreds listed.

Thank you Wareagle, but I need strictly a 12 VAC, I searched the web a lot. The only I found are 12 or 24 VDC to high voltage (110 or 220 VAC). Moreover I don't have that much space there. So I cannot use a big inverter but I need perhaps a naked inverter circuit and probably take off the transformer.
I've very appreciated your help,

gcr

RE: Convert 12 VDC power to 12 VAC

Taxrelief has suggested probably the most practical way of achieving this with minimal work. You could continue to searching for an inverter but might be tough. You could also make one. Taxreliefs idea would require a transformer (what is maximum load) but chances are this would be fairly small depending on load (maybe 2"x2"x2").

Inverter schematic that looks pretty good: http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/circ/555dcac.html

Great background info with scematics:

What size is the motor?
