I would like help in finding out how to have the regeneration value of a joint axis setting be tied to a parameter. I have tried using both a parameter of an analysis feature (length:FID_Analysis1) and as a parameter of the assembly (using a relation to tie the analysis feature to the parameter). Neither work. It always trips back to the manually entered value. I was told that "everything will be a parameter" with Wildfire 2. Is this not the case? Also, how can I get the sign on the value to be reversed; flipping the planes used in creating the connection will reverse the installation of the joint, so I do not think I can do it there.

I tried digging for this parameter myself, with no success.

The only thing that seemed to work for me was to create a datum plane that sets this angle in the assembly. Then, specify this datum plane as a zero reference in the joint axis settings, and set the regeneration value to zero. The only problem I had with this is that in some cases, you need to hit regenerate twice for the mechanism positions to update.

Not everything in Pro/E is directly controlled by a parameter, it seems. Another example of this are the pattern increments used in the fill pattern. We were trying to use this feature a while back to create a plate with several hundred holes in it, and allow Pro/E to optimize the hole spacing so that we reached a desired surface area. We managed to do it, but without using the fill pattern.
