How to cut miniature tubing burr free?

How to cut miniature tubing burr free?

(OP)
How does one machine miniature tubing, say .040 inch OD x .020 ID, without any burrs?  Does industry use small cutoff saws or laser?  There are many companies offering the service, but wondered if I can achieve the same in my shop without expensive machinery such as a laser.  Thank you.

RE: How to cut miniature tubing burr free?

There are several ways that industry gets a burr free cut. Here are several; electrochemical abrasive, score break with pull apart, and shear cut with die.

There are a couple of processes that you might use if the quantity is small, like a slow speed diamond saw or abrasive wire.  If there is any quantity or several materials involved an outside source is advisable due to the proprietary nature of some process parameters.
