trying to find area

trying to find area

trying to find area

(OP)
I'm creating a VB program to extract AutoCAD data to a spreadsheet.  Some of the information I need is area that is surrounded by a group of lines.  I'm trying to do this with no user interaction.  What's the best way to go about this?  Area? Boundary?

RE: trying to find area

I'd use area if the lines are joined into a polyline.

RE: trying to find area

I agree w/ IFRs, make it a polyline and use area command.

RE: trying to find area

Hey J Rice....

Do you know where I can get a vb / lisp / arx prog that can  sum the lengths of all the lines on a particular layer?

If I Isolate the Face of Curb layer - there maybe 40 - 250 line segments on that layer.  But for Quantity I need a routine that will sum their lengths... got anything like that?

thanks  GB
