Has anyone had experience, good or bad, with Trafo generator step-up transformers out of Brazil. I have a GE Prolec I need to replace, and Trafo was offered as an option

RE: trafo GSU transformers

Yes, I had used large GSU manufactured in Brazil by ABB, Siemens and others. The quality was good and the price competitive back in the mid 1990s.  Still these units are in service with not record of failure.

A few years ago, the transformer price was not much different from any other including domestic US, Canadian or European manufacturer.
