I am checking a building from 1965, and the drawings call for a roof deck consisting of 3" of insulrock.  Has anyone heard of this stuff before?  Is it similar to poured in place gypsum?  I don't see in the drawings where they call out for form boards or bulb tees.

RE: insulrock

Insulrock was a roof deck panel system by Flintkote Products that was made of a portland cement slurry and excelsior (a curled wood fiber), formed into planks and mounted in a system of "T" subpurlins.  The whole system was similar to Tectum.

This link should get you an old brochure...

I think Insulrock was sold to another company and there's a chance it can still be purchased; however, Tectum should suffice if you need replacement panels.
