Need spring clip

Need spring clip

I've been looking for a spring clip for several months to no avail.  It's for a bore about 3" in diam (there will be several sizes).  What I would really like is something like this:

But I would settle for just a round wire clip with no 'bumps' in it.

Does anyone know where I could get something like this?

Thanks!

RE: Need spring clip

It looks familiar.  Have you tried the OEM's?
Perhaps you could do as I do when faced with oddities such as this if your needs are not production based---go to the hobby shop and buy some piano wire and bend it yourself.
Neat little wire benders are available at places like Harbor Freight.

It is production based.  I'm going to need about 1500 per year.

RE: Need spring clip

Try Smalley Steel Ring Company. If they do not have it, they can most likely make it. www.smalley.com or info@smalley.com

Thanks guys.  I'm still waiting to hear back.  I had no idea something like this would be so hard to find.

RE: Need spring clip

Many spring manufacturers also make rings, as the coiling equipment is very similar. I would look in the Thomas Register or internet supplier directories for spring makers in your area. As the spring industry still consists of many small suppliers, finding someone to make 1500 of these per year should not be a problem. You may have to take a year's worth all at once, however. And now a days, the lead times can be horrendous because of problems with wire availability.
