PDMWorks Check In

I am having trouble checking in medium size assemblies into pdmworks, the system brings up a progress dialog with the label Query Info and spends a long while going through the files before crashing. Solidworks support tell me i should not see this query info dialog box. Does anybody else get this dialog box as i also get it on smaller assemblies that check in ok.

RE: PDMWorks Check In

We have experienced something similar to your problem.  In both uploading and downloading larger assemblies(150 parts max), Solidworks(4.1) and PDM client will randomly freeze up.  However, in both cases, all parts seem to get uploaded and downloaded correctly.  I am unsure if this is a SW problem or a server problem.

RE: PDMWorks Check In

Klester,
Have your network guys check the network hub. We have a bad hub that would case timeouts and not let us check into SmarTeam several years ago. They replaced the hub and everything worked fine after that.
Good luck

Bradley

RE: PDMWorks Check In

Check the memory usage on your machine while SolidWorks is crunching the numbers.  If it's more than 1.6 or 1.8 GB, your assembly may be too big for SolidWorks and/or Windows to handle without certain modifications.

PDMAdmin

I have changed my working directory to a local directory and also moved the files to check in to a local directory.
This appears to stop the machine crashing but then i get the memory error you talk about.
What kind of modifications would be rquired to solve this problem.
