Caustic + abrasion

Caustic + abrasion

Caustic + abrasion

(OP)
I am using Hardwear 400F in a caustic (pH=14) and heavy abrasion application, in the chemical industry (dissolving of sodium silicate). The equipment handles a caustic solution of sodium silicate and water. It is lined with the Hardwear and runs at temps btwn. 250 and 400 deg. F.
Hardwear 400F is hard to find. Any suggestions for an equivalent material?

RE: Caustic + abrasion

It appears that HARDWEAR 400F plate is supplied by International Steel Group. Considering that this is abrasion resistant plate, I would give the folks at HARDOX a call as an alternative supplier. We have purchased HARDOX abrasion resistant plate products (they have various grades) for our coal handing systems;

RE: Caustic + abrasion

Most service centers stock some version of abrasion resistant "400":
Wearform 400
AR 400F (F=Formable)
AR 400
Hardox 400
