System to run Solid Edge 16 for large assemblies

System to run Solid Edge 16 for large assemblies

(OP)
I was wondering if any one had some suggestions on the computer system we need to run Solid Edge 16.  We draw very large assembly machines.  Our systems now are really not performing up to par.  If you could list some of the systems you are using it would be appreciated.

Thanks

What do you have now?

The systems that we have now are AMD Anthlon 2.6G with 1Gig of memory.  They all have GeForce 64Meg video cards in them.

Should have asked this the first time.

What's your budget?

Athlon 2.6GHz should be OK, but increase to max available if budget allows. However your money will be better spent on the following.

Up the RAM to 2GB, set the VM to Min 1GB, Max 4GB & activate the "/3GB" switch. See http://www.d-digest.com/ssa/v3i1/model_tips_review.html

Upgrade the video card to at least an nVidia Quadro FX500 with 128MB on board RAM.
