Drawing Section View Error Message

Drawing Section View Error Message

Drawing Section View Error Message

(OP)
I've done a lots of section views in drawing mode before, but today when I click on the "create section view" icon I immediately get an error message that says "there are no drawing views from which a section can be made". This happens regardless of which view in the drawing I activate.
Any thoughts?

RE: Drawing Section View Error Message

Is the model a solid? Check top make sure! If it's a surface or not a solid then SW will not cut it.

It's not a Rapid Draft drawing is it?

"But what... is it good for?"

Scott,
Sorry, I'm new to the site and I didn't give you enough information.
It's a standard, run of the mill SW 2004 solid (sp 4.0), with no alerts, flags, or unresolved features, created the old-fashioned way. Nothing special or complicated about it.
Actually I'm having the same problem with several other parts that I created today as well.
Thanks,
Ray

RE: Drawing Section View Error Message

Are you sure the view is actually "active" and not just selected?

Try Lock View Focus on the view and see if it helps.

Thanks for your response. I guess my 2004 was somehow corrupt. I installed 2005 last night along with SP.01, and the problem went away.
