Testing 3.3kV cables

Testing 3.3kV cables

Testing 3.3kV cables

(OP)
We will receive within one month a 3ph 3.3kV cable for supplying power to a motor from a 33/3.3 kV transformer.  The cable was in our store for like one year or more.  What are the basic testing methods to be carried out on the cable to ensure its healthy condition before placing it in the system. Can you recommend any site that contains information/articles regarding this matter.

RE: Testing 3.3kV cables

Normally IR value is being taken before putting the cable into service. IR value should be more than (2*kV+1). To be more safe, you can go for tan delta test of the cable also.
