i am looking at two source.

one source says the charecteristic pile length is

the square root of EI/n(k)

the other says the fifth root of EI/n(k)

any one know which is righ and which is a typo

thanks

Pile length is a function of the soil profile, the pile type, the loads involved and the soil-pile interaction.  In that context, there is not a "characteristic pile length".
