Minimum Bend Radius

Minimum Bend Radius

Minimum Bend Radius

(OP)
Specifically, what is the minimum bend radius for an MC12x31 flanges out?

Generally, is there a rule of thumb for bend radii?  For the "easy way", flange width (in.) X 2 in feet, perhaps?

RE: Minimum Bend Radius

(OP)
Yes, a good article.  However, they stop short of rules of thumb or any specific radii values.
I'm hoping someone out there may have experience in bending MC's flange out.  The architect wants a 6'-8" radius, and I'm not sure if thats possible.
Thanks.

RE: Minimum Bend Radius

There are usually 4 or 5 steel fabricator advertisements in each issue of Modern Steel that say they specialize in bending steel.  Call one of them or your local fabricator.  They should be happy to answer your questions so they can sell more of their product.
