paper size and scale in v5r14
paper size and scale in v5r14
(OP)
Does anyone know how to change the papaer size and scale of a drawind (drafting), when creating it. Inprevious versions, it was possible in the dialog box, that comes out when changing workbench, but now i can`t, the scale and paper size is fixed, and i have to change it when inside the drawing

RE: paper size and scale in v5r14
In my V5R14, when I click
Start + Mechanical Design + Drafting
the Modify button is still up in there for which I can
click on it ... is it the same or different in your case??

RE: paper size and scale in v5r14
use view Properties to change drawing scale (for each view)
use FILE+PLOT to print on different paper sizes at different scales

RE: paper size and scale in v5r14
when I click Start + Mechanical Design + Drafting the modify button its available, and i can modify the paper size but not the scale.
The main problem, is that if I use the automatic view generation, it takes the default scale 1:1, so when I change the scale of the drawing, the views separate from each other as the size of the views is reduced/increased but the distance between views remain the same. If i don“t use the automatic view generation, then there is no problem, as ican define everything inside the drawing.
But in r13 I was able to change it.....

Yes, you're right! R13 and R14 behave differently on the modification of Scale while making a new CATDrawing.
I presume that could be caused by the following reason (solely by my own observation). Please check it up with your TechSupport.
In R14, we can now save our customised drawing format on the xml standards file (while in/prior to R13, they are saved in CATSettings files). When we take a look on the relevant section under Tools+Standards, we find that there is a new entry of Sheet Formats in there. On each drawing format, we can only find
- Name
- Landscape width
- Landscape height
- Orientation type
but no scale item defined in here.
I suspect that when we try to create a new CATDrawing, only the above 4 items are brought up in front of us.
Scale can only be found on Styles+Sheet under each entry of drawing format. This leads me to think that we could then as usual change the scale AFTER the CATDrawing is already created (via File+Page Setup).
