Linking BOM Items

Linking BOM Items

Linking BOM Items

(OP)
I currently use SW 2005 and use the new BOM.  My drawings typically will include an assembly on the first sheet with the BOM and separate component details on subsequent sheets. On the details I will put a short description.  I do this currently with a block that I attach to one of the views that has linked properties like Description, Matl, etc.  What I would like to do is to be able to link the BOM Item No.& Qty. as well.  I just cannot seem to find a SW Property for this.  Any ideas?

RE: Linking BOM Items

As far as I know this cannot be done in any version of SW.

RE: Linking BOM Items

I think I read this correctly?

You want to link your a Block with your BOM Item# and QTY Column. - If that's true then I'm with CBL on this. The only other thing you could try would be API, but that is more work then trying to find another solution or dealing with it... unless your API guru.
