HELP! - IBM INTELLISTATION ZPRO - PROS & CONS

(OP)
We are running solidworks 2005 and in the near future I intend to purchase solidworks office upgrade. (animator, photoworks etc.)  We are looking to getting new computers before the year is over.  We are looking at the IBM Intellistation ZPro, Product No.6223-21U (Xeon 3.6Ghz, NVidia Quatro FX1300-128mb).  I would like to start rendering my parts using photoworks and create animations using animator.  Any pros or cons regarding the computer station mentioned above especially the graphic card.  It would be very helpful if you can state what boxes your company uses so I can do a comparison to make sure its worth getting.  Any info is very helpful. Thank-you for your input.

RE: HELP! - IBM INTELLISTATION ZPRO - PROS & CONS

Here you go:

Check out the comparison between graphics cards done at--darn--I can't find the article.  It may have been Catalyst.

Anyway, if I remember right, the FX-1100 was almost exactly as powerful as the FX-1300, but much less expensive.  Search the web and I think you might find an article to that effect posted somewhere (may have been Computer Graphics World or similar).

Also, I recommend using the AMD 64-bit chips over Intel--lots more bang for the buck and you don't have any bottlenecks for bus traffic anywhere (although you probably won't have bottlenecks with the Dell system either).

I recommend Xi Computer, since they consistently win awards for their CAD workstations.  They're cheap and run well.  I run two such systems--very nice.
