RE: power generator help

There is significant differences for altitude de-rating factor applicable to power generator apparatus such as engine-generator, UPS, converter, etc. Please clarify the term "power generators" for audio applications?

RE: power generator help

To clarify, my post was in regards to engine-generators.

ANother thing that you must allow for when you palce gen sets at high altitudes is cooling systems.  If your radiator isn't sized correctly  you can bet that you generator will overheat due to the lack of oxygen at high altitudes. You tend to have a graeter drawdown at these high altitudes. You will usually have to make sure that you size your radiator larger than what the standard spec would be at sea level.  Also Make sure that you account for the type of fuel you'll be burning and (DO NOT) forget to account for the sulfur content in the fuel you'll be getting !
