RE: Zinc Bar/Ingot

Is there some secret word I need to use ? There seems to be loads of suppliers in the US, but none in UK.

I've spent hours on Google, tried all the metal stockists I can find and spoken to several local galvanisers. There appears to be nobody in the UK on Google. The galvanisers are all saying 'we can't sell it' but won't tell me their supplier. The metal stockists all say they don't do zinc.

Do I need a funny handshake or something? Can someone steer me to another forum? Any pointer appreciated!

Good Luck

RE: Zinc Bar/Ingot

Not really into Zinc so I assummed someone else might have picked up on this.

Quick search on zinc ingots didn't reveal much but by looking through some of the business directories I turned up these:

http://www.william-rowland.com/masters/main.cfm?page=non_ferrous.cfm

- go to the bottom of the page.

You might want to giove these guys a ring also:

http://www.impalloy.com/

These might be too big:

http://www.brockmetal.co.uk/zinc1.asp

http://www.abcd.co.uk/

If all else fails you could try ringing the Institute of Materials Information service:

http://www.iom3.org/MIS/index.htm

although you might have to join as an associate to use  the service the resource is worth the membership!!

Hope this is useful.

RE: Zinc Bar/Ingot

i think AMC, ZUES and a few others supply ingot.

Thank you etch. Unfortunately AMC are not interested in small orders and I can't find ZUES. However William Rowland (as recommended by andyenergy above) are a subsidiary of AMC and have solved my problem completely.

Good Luck
