Solidworks 2005 Colours
Solidworks 2005 Colours
(OP)
In drawings I like working on a black background (less harsh on the eyes) and have so since 1997 when first started using Soidworks.
Now the problems in 2005 are these.
1. You create a section and the section line is created as black and hence cannot be seen against a black background.
2. You go to drag a drawing view and the model colours usually white become black and hence again you can't see the model as you draw it.
3. You creat an excel based parts list and initially it is black (again you can't see it) until the first time you select it in which it reverts back to its default colour.
Is there a default colour that I can change or are these colours embede in Solidworks?

RE: Solidworks 2005 Colours
Open a new drawing (which is based on your .drwdot template). Go to Tools > Options, then find the colors tab and see if you've got the option to change those items. You'll probably find a lot of items set to the default of black. If you get what you need, save the drawing as a template file in your Data folder (where your other templates are) and you should be set.
This is assuming there are specific controls for these items.

RE: Solidworks 2005 Colours
You don't appear to have any control over them to do this.
This is really annoying. In 2004 the detail profile and section lines used to default to the dimension colour you set.
RE: Solidworks 2005 Colours
Try using the white sheet with a gradient background. It's different then black but you will like in time. It's just like switching to SW from AutoCAD. Your not crazy about releanring SW, but once you have an understanding you won't look back.
