Design journal not instantiating

Design journal not instantiating

(OP)
Hello guys,

In my Solidworks 2005 the design journal is just not instantiating.  It just gives me a message that Design journal couldnt be started.  I have tried a clean sweep re-install of the software but to no avail.  What could be going on there.

Please help !

Regards

vik

RE: Design journal not instantiating

Your anti-virus or firewall software may be the problem.

RE: Design journal not instantiating

Do you mean "A Journal file could not be started" or are you talking about the Design journal within a part, assembly, or drawing.

The Design Journal doesn't automatically start when you start a part, assmbly or drawing. You have to first RMB the DJ and click Open. If it doens't open then you need to check to see if you have Norton's on your system. If you do then you need to upgrade to Norton's 2004. Norton 2003 is keeping the DJ from opening. This has been proven by SW and the fix is to upgrade your Norton to 2004.
