Inexpensive simple 3d spaceframe/truss software wtd.

Any recommendations for cheap software package that can calculate 3D structural element loads similar to car space frames and antenna truss structures constructed from 1x1, 2x2 steel or aluminum (6061-T6) box or angle.
I would like good simple wireframe graphics, buckling considerations and the connection details will be done by hand.
IMO - most civil structural packages are way overkill for my requirements.

I have looked at Frameshape's site and am intimidated with the interface especially with the "data file structure".
No graphical input?
Should I be?

The former is a self-contained program, the latter is a toolbox that can be run in Matlab or Scilab under Linux.
