Check in weld beads in sw

Check in weld beads in sw

Check in weld beads in sw

(OP)
I have about 500 weld bead in my assembly
How can I check in them considering that I have the same names in pdm (bead1,bead2,....,bead500)
Should I rename 500 file name to obtain unique name to check in ?!?

RE: Check in weld beads in sw

Rename them first. In the future, rename them as you create them ... it will save you alot of time.

You mean that I have copy all beads in a folder and then put it on server , sho what then ?

RE: Check in weld beads in sw

You may be able to use Solidworks Explorer to rename and automatically add a prefix.  You could use the assembly's number as the prefix. eg: 100xxx bead1, 100xxx bead2...
With that done, you can easily check them in to pdm.

The prefix option may only be available when copying files, but I would recommend investigating that route.

How can I use explorer to reanme all 500 files in a time ?

RE: Check in weld beads in sw

You may have to copy the files to a new location, renaming them at the same time.  But yes, you can rename all of them at once adding a prefix of suffix.
