Eliminating features above countersinks

Eliminating features above countersinks

Eliminating features above countersinks

(OP)
In the following image you can see how some features project over the countersinks:

Since I place the countersunk holes in a face lower than the overhanging features, I'm not sure how to extend the countersink up so that the features don't overhang.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to some kind of conical cut extrude.

RE: Eliminating features above countersinks

Simple ... Start the countersink higher up

Create a plane where you want the CSK to start from, or use the top surface of the trapezoids & recess or enlarge the CSK to suit. The Hole Wizard has a feature under Head Clearance & Type which allows an Increased C'sink or Added C'bore

RE: Eliminating features above countersinks

Or reorder the c'sink in the feature tree to be before the object that protrudes over it

RE: Eliminating features above countersinks

automationbabe ... that won't help if you start the CSK at the lower level ... give it a try. The CSK can only "cut-extrude (revolve)" in one direction.

Thanks.

Moving the hole up and down the tree didn't help.

Instead, I changed the sketch plane of the hole to the top of the teeth, and added a counterbore the same length as the height of the teeth from the "deck."

Looks like this:

RE: Eliminating features above countersinks

That's an extra step though!

The VAR who conducted my training was emphatic about "reducing clicks."
