Homebrew formula for wrinkle finish paint

Homebrew formula for wrinkle finish paint

Homebrew formula for wrinkle finish paint

(OP)
Back in the days before EPA, wrinkle finish paints used to be available in colors other than black.  I used to have a formula for a homebrew version of wrinkle paint that used readily available materials but I have lost track of it over the years.  Does anyone else out there have a workable formula?

RE: Homebrew formula for wrinkle finish paint

Try adding Tung Oil to you paint. Tung oil encourages wrinkling because the mid-layer of paint does not dry as fast as the top. Wrinkling is caused by uneven drying between the substrate, mid, and outer layer of the paint film.
