Titan and Hastalloy C22

(OP)
HI!
I have a small question that I hope someone can help me answer.

I want to connect an flow-element made of Hastalloy C22 into a Titan piping.
Is it safe to do that?

If not why?

Regards Roger F

RE: Titan and Hastalloy C22

Do you mean titanium?
What is the fluid that you are handling?
If there is chance for galvanic corrosion you should not do it.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.

RE: Titan and Hastalloy C22

How do you intend to attach the Hastelloy C-22 flow element to the Ti piping? If it can be attached by mechanical means to the piping, a nonmetalic gasket should be used to prevent direct contact between the Ti and Hastelloy.

RE: Titan and Hastalloy C22

Use a a mechanical jointing system. The two materials cannot be fusion welded together without the use of an intermediary metal or metals.
