Smiley Faces...

Smiley Faces...

Smiley Faces...

(OP)
I'm sure this has been addressed before but the search function has been offline this morning and I'm sure someone can provide a quick answer.

My Express Tools seemed to install normally on ACAD 2002. I set up a custom toolbar and turned the rest off. Later, when running ACAD again, all the Express Tools icons have become sunglasses smiley faces.

Why does this happen and how can I get my normal icons back?

RE: Smiley Faces...

make a new custom toolbar

after selecting "new" in the customize dialog,

select "express" for "save toolbar in menu group"

then re-make you custom toolbar.

icons should remain the same now.

hope this helps

Thanks, Ozzy.

It didn't help, though. All of the ET tools show the smiley icons, even the native ET toolbars.

They used to be there but are gone...

OK, problem solved. Here's what I found on www.cadforum.cz:

AutoCAD performs a recompilation on a new or updated MNS menu file to save the compiled resources (icons) in a .MNR file. At the compilation time the required bitmaps (.BMPs, .DLL) should be available. Make sure your bitmaps are available (in the support path) and recompile your menu (e.g. by deleting .MNR and .MNC and restarting AutoCAD, in higher versions by the MENU command and choosing the .MNU file). Can also appear when changing graphic driver color resolution.
