LA Abrasion VS ASTM C1138 Wet Method

LA Abrasion VS ASTM C1138 Wet Method

(OP)
I have to test the competence of rock that will be used as features in a recirculating white water rafting/canoe course.  My designers are familiar with the LA Abrasion test (ASTM C535) and feel that the test is appropriate.  I think that using the wet method for testing concrete abrasion resistance (ASTM C 1138) would be more apropos, but the designers don't have a clear reference that they can use to determine if the rock being tested is competent using that test.  Is there a correlation between the C 535 and the C 1138, as both give the same lose by percent result?
