Sketches in Mathcad file

Sketches in Mathcad file

Sketches in Mathcad file

(OP)
I follow the method as-

1. Create the drawing in CAD.
2. Capture the image.
3. Crop, cut etc. the image in some other package eg. MS Paint.
4. Recapture the image.
5. Paste in Mathcad.

After doing it so much efficiently, I wonder what others do.

RE: Sketches in Mathcad file

I use IRFANVIEW for the latter half of the process, but that's pretty much it.

Alternately, you could export your drawing to a package on the PC and use something like Smartsketch or Autocad embedded directly into a Mathcad sheet.  I know you can do that with Smartsketch, but have never tried it with Autocad.

I print to PDF within AutoCad, then do an image capture within Acrobat and paste into MathCAD.  Works first time, every time if you have the full version of Acrobat.

Acually revising the sketches and adding a few more details to it is painful as you have to repeat the whole process again and again (say 20 times, considering how many bosses I have and each one comes out with his new dot and dash). I guess someone has this annoyance before and has a better method.

Thanks guys for the responses.

Again, a number of programs can be directly embedded as COM objects and be edited in place.  Even Powerpoint can be set up that way.

Well, it works with AutoCAD. Not with MicroStation, that I would have preferred. But my problem stands solved now.

Thanks IR.
