Resize Datum Feature Symbol?

Resize Datum Feature Symbol?

(OP)

Is there a way to control the size of Datum Feature Symbols in an SW Drawing?  Sometimes my datums seem ridiculously large when compared to the part I’m working on.
(BTW, I use the 1982 datum style, if that makes a difference)

Thank you, Scott.  I guess I meant to say can I control them independently?

What you mentioned works, but it’s too global.  Say I want to make my datum callout a little smaller.  That’s going to apply the font size change to every datum as well as every dimension on every single sheet in my drawing.

It sure would be nice to re-size them after the fact.  If you pick a dimension, the Formatting Toolbar Font Size dropdown list is available.  Not so with the datums.  If you pick one, the size pulldown is unavailable.

RE: Resize Datum Feature Symbol?

per drafting standards, they need to be all the same size on a drawing.

ctopher, you are correct, and I’m aware of that.  Some of my questions may sound screwy to most people, but a lot of it has to do with the way I set my files up.

I have an assembly that has a few configurations, and each configuration needs its own drawing.  Rather than have a boatload of SLDDRW files, I have one with many sheets.  Each of these sheets serves as its own independent document, so from one sheet to the next, I am not bound by the standard to which you refer.

I’d be a very happy man if Tools/Options/etc had a radio button that offered a choice of  “Apply changes to entire document” or “Apply changes to Current Sheet only.”

RE: Resize Datum Feature Symbol?

That isn't the way SW is to be used (In respect to how you control your Documents). But the only thing you can do is place an Enhancement Request in. You will not get a reply on when it would be applied, because you have to have more then just yourself put that ER in to SW. So the more people that put this in the higher up the list it goes @ SW.
