Hi

Is there any standard regarding overlapping of steel bars in reinforcement of foundations. In one of our projects we are using dia. 20 mm round bars for reinforcement. How much overlap we use for the above.

the lap varies with the bar diameter.  for a class"B" lap lenght for a #7 bar, (22mm)
top bar----45"  1100mm
bottom bar-35"   890mm
embedment top bar  890mm
embedment bottom bar 690mm
